Aida is an opera in four acts by Guiseppe Verdi written in 1871. The opera is set in Egypt in the age of the Pharoahs, during a time when Egypt is at war with Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian King's daugther, Aida, has been captured and is a slave of the Pharoah's daughter, Amneris. The captain of the Pharoah's guard is in love with Aida, but Amneris is in love with him.
