Die Fledermaus (The Bat) is a comic operetta in three acts.
Eisenstein has been sentenced to prison for a tax offence in the morning, but his friend convinces him to attend a party at Prince Orlofsky's. Eisenstein's wife Rosalinde takes this opportunity to arrange a rendezvous with her lover Albert in her home. When the jailer arrives, he mistakes Albert for Eisenstein and brings him off to jail.
