The Wailers are a reggae and ska band from Jamaica which formed in 1963. The original lineup of the band consisted of Junior Braithwaite, Beverley Kelso, Bunny Wailer, Bob Marley, Peter McIntosh and Cherry Smith. The Wailers recorded several groundbreaking reggae hits, including "Simmer Down" and "Get Up, Stand Up".
The Wailers broke up in 1974, with each of the three core members going on to solo careers. In 2008, the group reformed and resumed touring, again carrying the "world peace" and "help the poor" message with the United Nations World Food Program.
